Joe takes special pride in representing injured people because he knows the devastating impact an injury can have on a person’s family. Joe’s father was injured as a result of a doctor’s medical malpractice. Because of this, Joe knows his clients are counting on him for aggressive representation.
Joe is also an A.B.A.T.E instructed rider and understands the unique issues riders have to combat while on the roads. As an attorney, Joe also understands the issues riders face when fighting insurance companies for their injuries and damage to their motorcycles. As a result, Joe has settled many of his clients’ cases and, when necessary, taken many of his clients’ cases to trial to get them the compensation they deserve. Joe has tried cases in front of judges and juries throughout Illinois and Indiana.
Joe is a graduate of Wabash College and received both his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois. While in law school, in addition to working at Kelly Law Offices, Joe clerked for the Honorable Jesse Reyes in the Cook County, Illinois Chancery Court, worked as a commercial lease examiner for RSM McGladrey, was an intern with Sheldon Good & Co. America’s Real Estate Auctioneer, and clerked for the Lake County, Indiana Felony Prosecutors Office.
Joe’s practice includes not only motorcycle, automobile and personal injury cases, but also real estate and transactional matters like purchase and sale, development, landlord/tenant disputes, zoning, construction defect, and lien claims. Joe also helps motorcycle groups attempting to achieve not-for-profit status via [501©(3) and 501©(4)] with their initial start-up paperwork on a pro bono basis. He has helped multiple organizations navigate the many requirements to achieve not-for-profit status at the local, state, and federal levels and he does this work for free.
